Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) was an Italian physician, scientist, activist, and educator. Through careful observation of children, she authored numerous books, created materials for development, and devised a framework and curriculum for children and teachers. She worked passionately to elevate peace and empower children as capable individuals who deserve respect. At Mini Montessori of Houston, we strive to practice the Montessori Method with integrity by following each child’s unique interests and using observation as a tool for lesson planning and assessment. We believe that the child’s work is the process of self formation and accordingly prepare our environment to allow children the space and opportunities to explore, discover, create, collaborate, lead, and become life long learners.
